SenseWalk’s team presenting at the 5th Interdisciplinary Conference «Brain and Mind”!

SenseWalk’s project team attended and presented their results regarding the impact of auditory cues and cognitive load on walking behavior at the
5th Interdisciplinary Conference «Brain and Mind» in Athens, Greece.

The study examined the effect of high/low intensity and pitch sounds on walking on smooth and rough surfaces, while participants performed or not a secondary task. According to the results, rough surfaces and dual-tasking had a significant effect on gait parameters (such as decreased cadence, gait speed and stride length), as well as the auditory cues, indicating that they might be useful for coping age-related gait disturbances.
