SenseWalk’s team at the International Multisensory Research Forum!

SenseWalk’s project team recently presented their research at the International Multisensory Research Forum (IMRF) 2025, held in Durham, UK. The presentation highlighted how continuous auditory cues – specifically sounds differing in pitch and loudness – can influence human gait, particularly under challenging walking conditions involving uneven surfaces and cognitive load. Using motion sensors to capture spatiotemporal gait parameters, the study demonstrated that even non-rhythmic auditory stimuli can significantly modulate walking behavior. These findings contribute to the understanding of sensory influences on motor control and may have implications for applications in rehabilitation and assistive technologies.
