Principal Investigator

Argiro is an experimental psychologist and an assistant professor for the Psychology Department at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. She is the Editor-in-Chief for Timing & Time Perception and Associate Editor for Psychology & Neuroscience. She is also the co-founder of Timing Research Forum (TRF), an open society for promoting multidisciplinary research on timing and time perception. Research Team

Vassilis is a doctoral student in the Department of PHS, UoA and a member of the MultiTime Lab. His studies are funded by IKY foundation. He completed his MSc. in Cognitive Science in the Dept. of Philosophy and History of Science, UoA, and holds a BA in Biology from the University of Patras. His master’s thesis was on intentional binding and he is interested in multisensory and temporal processing and, particularly, perceptual learning.

Christina is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Psychology, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. She completed her MSc. in “Clinical Neuropsychology – Cognitive Neurosciences” of the Medical School of the UoA in collaboration with the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI), McGill University. She holds a BA in Psychology from the Dept. of Psychology, Panteion University. Her master’s thesis was on timing and rhythm reproduction in patients with stroke-induced aphasia.

Rania graduated from the Department of History and Philosophy of Science in the UoA. For her thesis, she studied, using psychophysics, body image perception among adults and the factors that might affect it. She also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Hertfordshire via IST College, and she worked as a Clinical Dietitian in “Metaxa” Hospital. She is currently completing here MSc in Cognitive Science from the Dept. of History and Philosophy of Science in the UoA.

Collaborators

The Municipality of Athens and, in particular, Ms. Olga Dourou, Deputy Mayor of Active Ageing & Friendship Clubs, is the official partner of SenseWalk for access to the friendship clubs of Attica. This partnership provides us with the opportunity to collect our studies sample, but also to be able to disseminate and implement the results of SenseWalk in the community.

The experimental psychology lab lead by Dr. Marios Avraamides in the University of Cyprus were great assistance to the projects virtual walking environments. We envision further collaborations with Dr. Avraamides team!


The Standard Elderly Care Unit Rodicare was designed by geriatrics experts to provide the elderly with a safe environment that allows them to enjoy life with as much independence and dignity as possible. We thank the Unit for collaborating with us in some of our studies.
